WEST COAST TRAIL BRIDGES REPAIR
2014 & 2015
The West Coast Trail Bridges Repair projects involved work on seventeen structures, the majority of which required complete removal and replacement of the existing bridges. Work took place from late winter to spring in both 2014 and 2015 to allow the trail to be open and fully functional for hikers.
Our crew and all of the needed tools and materials were flown into the remote location via helicopter. All of the structures were hand built and erected from locally sourced heavy cedar timbers.
Of the seventeen bridges the most impressive ones were the Cheewhat Suspension Bridge with a span of over 46m and the Tsocowis Suspension Bridge with a span of over 19m.
The West Coast Trail is a celebrated national treasure, we at CMF are proud to list these projects among our accomplishments.
The total value of these project was approximately $1.2 million.
