SAUNDERS CREEK BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
The Saunders Creek Bridge is located on Highway No. 28, approximately 5km East of Gold River, B.C.
In order to demolish the existing bridge, this project required the design and construction of a detour bridge spanning approximately 43m across Saunders Creek. Once the detour was constructed the existing bridge was demolished and the construction of the new bridge began.
The new Saunders Creek Bridge project consists of excavating the foundation, installing steel pipe piles, placing of rip rap, construction of cast-in-place concrete for abutments, bridge deck, pile infill, parapets, and approach slabs, supply and installation of steel girders, construction of roadway approaches, as well as environmental management and quality control.
This project is currently ongoing and has an estimated value of approximately $4.3 million.
